Numbers ----> Bones

A. Numbers

Summary: Don Eppes was a special agent with FBI and his brother Charlie was a mathematical genius who worked as a professor. At times, Don would ask Charlie to help with a case. Charlie would apply advanced mathematics to a case in order to predict the behavior of the perpetrator(s).

Connections: The link in this series was Charlies' colleague and, later, wife Amita Ramanujan.
She was also a mathematician and was of Indian descent. As such, she may be related to a famous Indian mathematician named Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Many stories have been told that involve Srinivasa Ramanujan including one called “The Indian Summer of Sherlock Holmes” found in the Holmes of the Raj written by Vithal Rajan.

1. The Indian Summer of Sherlock Holmes found in Holmes of the Raj by Vithal Rajan
Summary: On the eve of WWI, Holmes and Watson were asked to come to India to help maintain peace. It seemed that something was stirring in India because of the war. The two men went there to aid a man named Harding in the search of spies. While there, an Indian Clerk, Srinivasa Ramanujan became implicated, especially because of his coded mathematical notebooks, as an instigator. Holmes cleared his good name.
Connections: Sherlock Holmes, a famous detectives, has been the main character of many a story, movie, game etc.

One interesting story that Sherlock took part in was a book called The Holmes-Dracula File by Fred Saberhagen.

2. The Holmes-Dracula File by Fred Saberhagen
Summary: Sherlock Holmes had to stop a terrorist type group from releasing plague carrying rats into London. While doing this, he also discovered bodies that had been drained of blood. The key to both crimes was found with Count Dracula. Dracula and Holmes teamed up to solve these two cases.

Connections: There was an indirect link to Professor Abraham Van Helsing in the Holmes-Dracula Files. In one of the notes, Dracula explained that in the 19th century “Van Helsing concocted his lurid lies, down to the present.” Abraham Van Helsing was a Dutch professor and a vampire hunter. In the movie Love Bites there was a person named Vinnie Helsting

He was a detective as he was hired to look into Zachary Simms past. And most importantly he was a distant relative to the Van Helsings. His family changed their name to distance themselves from the vampire hunting branch.

3. Love Bites
Summary: Zachary Simms was born during the 1660s in England and moved to Boston in 1675. In 1688, he was turned by a vampiress named Nerissa. He loved her and lived with her for a 100 years but then she ran off with another person. Zachary pined for her for a hundred years and then slept for another hundred. When he awoke, a girl named Kendall Gordon was living in his house. She was dating a guy named Dwight Putnum who wanted to marry her, but she didn't feel the same. Instead, Zach and Kendall began falling in love. Zach wanted to be human for her. After becoming a human, he got a job where Dwight worked and eventually took Dwight's job from him. As Simms became more powerful in business, he acted less human. Kendall was hurt and wanted him back the way he was. Nerissa helped out by revamping him.
Connectons: As said before, Zachary Simms was born in England and moved to Boston in 1675.

Relatives of his may have lived in Salem at the time. These relatives may have later become the ancestors of Tyler Simms from The Covenant.

4. The Covenant
Summary: Caleb Danvers, Reid Garwin, Pogue Parry, and Tyler Simms were the sons of Ipswich who were not only the baddest boys at Spenser Academy but warlocks descended from the four families that were at Salem. There was a fifth family, but they had been banished. One of the descendants of this family showed up at Spenser. His name was Chase Collins. He challenged the boys and tried to steal their powers.
Connections: Chase Collins, the banished son of Ipswich, descended from the line of John Putnam and Agnes Goodwin Pope.

Another member of the Putnam family was Silas Putnam. He was found in a book called Through Streams of Time: Book Two of the Kalatar by Charles Dobbins. Silas Putnam was described as “being a prominent citizen whose family had been some of the original settlers who had signed the Arbella Covenant.” (pg. 54).

5. Through Streams of Time: Book Two of the Kalatar by Charles Dobbins
Summary: Clarisse Corsairee was a Kalater (a heavenly warrior) who had drawn Satan's ire. Satan decided to attack her in a time before she was called to be a warrior- in 1692. But her husband, Joshua,  also went back in time to save and protect her.
Connections: Because of the power struggles within the church, Salem apparently didn't have many ministers that stayed long. At the time of this story their reverend was a man named Trask. Another Reverend Trask shows up in the Dark Shadows series.
This Reverend Trask was described as a being from Salem and being a witch hunter. These two Trasks could be the same person.

6. Dark Shadows
Summary: It is about the plotting and other machinations of the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine. Victoria Winters was hired to work there as a governess. Spooky things began to happen. Eventually Victoria met Barnabas Collins who was a vampire (and an ancestor of the Collins family).
Connections: The link for this was Barnabas Collins' cane.

'

The cane with the wolfs head had also been seen in an episode of “Bones” called “The Man in the Wall.” As can be partially seen in this screenshot, Booth had the cane swung at him.

B. “Bones”
Summary: Seeley Booth was an agent with the FBI. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan was a forensic anthropologist who worked at the Jeffersonian. Together they worked together to solve crimes. Bones and her team brought an outsiders view to the world of law enforcement and provided scientific expertise to investigations. Booth and Brennan eventually fall in love and have a kid.
