The #IceBucketChallenge was a phenomenon
created to bring attention to ALS. ALS (amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis) was the disease better known as Lou Gherig's Disease. It is
a neurodegenerative disease meaning that it destroyed the cells that
take messages from the body to make it move voluntary and
involuntary. It can paralyze many of those who develop it and it is
normally fatal within ten years of being diagnosed.
The are just a few important rules to
the #IceBucketChallenge. First, you have to be challenged. Second you
have to accept that challenge. Third, you either donate money, take
a bucket of ice water over the head, or both. 4. If you decided to
pour ice water over your head, you have to record it. 5. You need to
challenge other people.
Many notable people have taken part in
the #IceBucketchallenge. Since this blog has to do with the fictional
world, many of those people are not important. But there are some
participants who do have some interest to this blog. So without
further ado:
#IceBucketChallenge
1. Vince McMahon
Bio: Vince McMahon, better known as Mr. McMahon, was the chairman of WWF (WWE). He was posing as an announcer while secretly pulling the strings of the matches. He was outed by Jim Ross. Eventually, he got more involved in the matches besides just announcing and commenting on them. For example, he interfered in a match between Shawn Michaels and Owen Hart. Michaels had him in submission move while Hart was refusing to submit. McMahon ordered the referee to ring him out. He was married to Linda McMahon and had a son named Shane, a daughter named Stephanie, and a son-in-law named Triple H (Hunter Hearst Helmsley). At some point, I believe he passed control of the WWE to his daughter Stephanie and her husband Triple H.
Connection: Vince McMahon was nominated to the #IceBucketChallenge by Triple H.
While challenging Kermit, he calls him "that pesky amphibian."
2. Kermit the Frog
Bio: Kermit the frog was born in a swamp and was raised with this 3265 siblings. At the age of 12, he left the swamp and made contact with humans. This was when he encountered Jim Henson, who was also 12. He returned home briefly, until an agent came by and encouraged Kermit to go to Hollywood. On the way, he met other Muppets and together they become actors. Most recently, Kermit has starred in The Muppets: Most Wanted.
Connection: Kermit the Frog was challenged to the #icebucketchallenge by Vince McMahon. He accepted the challenge, even though it would endanger his life. Here is the clip of his challenge.
3. Cookie Monster
Bio: Cookie Monster was a monster that lived on Sesame Street. When he was born, he may have been known as Sid, but after he had his first cookie... Well, he was best known for his love of cookies, but in more recent years has curbed his obsession to be a better role model for young children. He will eat anything from fruit to inedible objects. His favorite food are still cookies with chocolate chips being tops with oatmeal cookies coming in second. Cookie has parents, a sister, and an identical cousin.
Connection: Cookie Monster was challenged to do the #IceBucketChallenge by Rachael Ray. The following video the proof of his acceptance.
4.
Hulk Hogan
Bio: Hulk Hogan was one of the wrestlers to have worked with WWF/WWE the longest. He became the face of wrestling in the early years. He was known for Hulkmania and referred to his fans as Hulkmaniacs. There were four demandments that he followed: training, saying prayers, eating vitamins, and believing in oneself. He had a red and yellow outfit scheme. He was known for ripping his shirt off, flexing and listening for the audience and this would be at the point when he was almost defeated in a match.
Connection: Hulk Hogan was challenged to the #IceBucketChallenge by two people and here is his video proof with the ritualistic shirt ripping.
5. Corpus from Warframe
Bio: They were a merchant cult and often the enemies of the Tenno (descendants of an ancient and mystical civilization). They were unified by one goal- getting ancient technology and warframes. They had a potent mix of energy weapons and troops. The Corpus were broken down into two groups: crewmen and bosses. Of the crewmen there were five ranks. First, the basic crewmen who were seen wearing grey welding suits. Second, the sniper crewmen who wear bright yellow. Third, the elite crewmen who were stronger than normal crewmen and seen in grey blue suits. Fourth, the tech. They were larger and seen wearing orange suits with blue visors. Finally, there were the prod crewmen. These were the melee troops and were seen wearing green suits. They were also from the future.
Connection: Mathew Day of GamesDay Podcast challenged the Corpus to take the #IceBucketChallenge. Here was their video proof.
6. Ghost from Destiny
Bio: Not much was known about Ghost. What was known was that he was a robot AI (so there could be multiple versions of him). And he was from a post apocalyptic future that occured after humans spread through space and the collapse of their colonies. Humankind was on the brink of extinction, but saved by the Traveler. He traveled with a Guardian who was tasked with waking the Traveler
Connection: Ghost was challenged to the #IceBucketChallenge by the Corpus from Warframe. This video was his proof.
